Search For A Stoke City Star – Leon Bailey

With less than a month to go until the transfer window opens the footballing rumour mill is beginning to build into a crescendo of speculation. In keeping with this tradition I will be giving you my run down on the players who are being linked with a move to the Bet365. This time a young winger who could bring a taste of the Caribbean to Stoke:

Leon Bailey

Current Club: Genk

Position: Winger

Possible Price –  Around 20 million pounds

Anybody else interested: Chelsea, Manchester United, Napoli, Nice and Bayer Leverkusen

Giraffe or Lemon:  A young giraffe.

Where Would He Fit In:

Currently Stoke have three wide players to choose from as well as a couple of bit part wingers such as Super Jon and Mame so spending 20 Million on another winger would surely mean one of Arnie or Shaqiri being sold or, hopefully not, Ramadan being sent out on loan.

Do We Need Him:

If we can keep the current players in his position happy, then no as we already have our own promising winger in our ranks but if Shaqiri’s agent can be believed then bringing in someone like Bailey with any possible proceeds would represent good business.

Who’s place would be under threat:

If Stoke do make a bid it will most likely be to replace an outgoing player, most likely Shaqiri. The other option would be if Ramadan was sent out on loan to gain experience.

Verdict: Although a player I would love to see down at the Bet365 I don’t think it would be a good move for either the club or the player at present but you never know who will come snooping around our players so I wouldn’t be surprised if Hughes and his backroom team were keeping an eye on a player of his ability.
