Search For A Stoke City Star – Sead Kolasinac

With the international break now over most football journalists will, if they haven’t already, try to justify their paycheques by speculating on who will be going where during the upcoming transfer window. In keeping with this tradition I will be giving you my run down on the players who are being linked with a move to the Bet365. This time maybe the solution to Stoke’s left back problems:

Sead Kolasinac

sead-kolasinac

Current Club: Schalke 04

Position: Left Back

Possible Price –  Around 5 Million pounds (if he doesn’t sign a new contract and up to 10 Million if he does

Anybody else interested: Liverpool, West Brom, Everton, Tottenham

Giraffe or Lemon:  A possible Giraffe to replace our perennial Lemon.

Where Would He Fit In:

Left back but can also play at centre half and in the holding role in midfield.

Do We Need Him:

Yes. Pieters has not had a good season so far and bringing in a genuine challenger for his first team spot would provide the competition he needs, similar to Johnson on the opposite flank. And on present form Kolasinac may come in as the first choice left back!

Who’s place would be under threat:

In the first XI obviously Pieters is the most at risk Muniesa should be looking over his shoulder if Stoke buy someone like Kolasinac.

Verdict: This one smells like it has come from the player’s agent trying to negotiate either a better deal for his player at Schalke or a lucrative move to the Premiership. If the player still hasn’t signed a contract by the start of the transfer window there could be a bargain to be had but I suspect the bigger bargain will be when the player moves on a free in the summer.
